False Contacts
Waveband switches are often oxidized and dirty. They should be cleaned using carbon tetrachloride. This product is available in spray form in electronic supply stores. It can also be applied to potentiometers that "crackle". Some cleaning products:- KF F2 Special Contacts
- DeoxIt D5: Effective for metal-to-metal contacts; not recommended for carbon track potentiometers.
- DeoxIt F5: The most effective for carbon track potentiometers.
